In an effort to complement SDGs 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10, Caritas K-MD set two programs i.e., “The K-MD Integrated Livelihood Credit Program” and “The K-MD PROMIC Program” so as to extend its support for the rural and active poor by providing them with manageable financial credit in form of loans. This initiative was arrived after many people in the Diocese most especially in the rural areas expressing their inability to obtain loans from banks and other financial institution.  The programs provide clients with trainings in financial management as well as basic book keeping. The K-MD Integrated Livelihood Credit Program offers financial services to individual clients as well as individuals organized in a group. However, the K-MD PROMIC Program was mainly crafted to support the active poor women organized in groups who need small financial support.

The K-MD Credit Program is relatively unique for Caritas K-MD because it does not depend on donor funding to sustain it. Instead, Caritas K-MD is actually able to make a small profit from the issued out financial credit to provide it with the much-needed financial sustainability in order to ultimately serve the people in the Diocese.

The main strategic goal of the Program is “K-MD Communities access quality, affordable and sustainable financial services for improved livelihoods”.
