Program Overview
The CAPCA (Central Archdiocesan Province Caritas Association) Program is funded by Caritas Denmark and operates in Kassanda District across the three sub-counties of Kiganda, Myanzi and Kassanda. It supports small-holder farmers through cooperative societies, capacity building and value-addition initiatives.
Kiganda Sub County
In Kiganda, the program operates in the local parishes of Kawungeera, Nsozinga and Kigalama with a total of 22 farmers' groups and 802 members, all united under the Kiganda Coffee Farmers' Cooperative Society Ltd.
Myanzi Sub County
In Myanzi Sub County, the program operates in the local parishes of Gambwa and Kampiri with a total of 11 groups and 560 members, united under the Buggaga Kulima Myanzi Farmers' Cooperative Society Ltd.
Kassanda Sub County
In Kassanda, the program operates in the local parishes of Namiringa, Lwantale and Kyanika with a total of 10 groups and 456 members, united under the Kassanda Maize Millers' Cooperative Society Ltd.
Total Reach
43 farmer groups — 1,818 members across 3 cooperative societies in Kassanda District. The program also extends to Katuugo, Mirembe Maria and Naama Parishes.
